Statline: Ohtani strikeouts 10 and hit 2 homers. What if the Angels traded for Shohei Ohtani and team him up with Mike Trout…the Angels would win multiple World Series. What?? They are already on the same team??? This goes to show that it’s not that easy to win even if you have the best 2 player in MLB. Trout and Ohtani have been together for 6 years and the Angels has won nothing. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you have to have a solid pitching staff to win. The Angels loaded up on offense over the years by signing guys like Pujols, Anthony Rendon, Justin Upton etc. not once did they have a real ace and a solid 2 to anchor their pitching.
I guess we can’t really blame the front office.. they are owned by Disney and have a bunch of Mickey Mouses running the team and place more priority in assembling a bunch of Avengers than pitching arms.
