Day 48-First hand experience…

I want to share a personal experience how scared people are with this virus. This afternoon, I was going to Walgreens to grab a few things. I had my mask on and even put on a pair of blue hospital rubber gloves. I went in, grabbed my stuff and headed straight to the register to pay. Including myself, there was like 5 people standing in line. We were all spaced out at least 6 feet apart. One of the gentleman in line was someone in their 50s. He had a mask on. This man started coughing and it wasn’t one of these cough that was just a quick cough and stop. He was coughing pretty hard and had both of his hands covering his mask. What happened next was eventful. Everyone that was in line just froze and looked at him and then we all looked at each other. We then all backed up at least 15 feet. Within seconds, people just put down their stuff on the counter and headed straight for the door. The cashier had this terrified look on her face and didn’t know what to do. I too then put my stuff on the counter and left. There were a few people that hurriedly left behind me. I guess they probably heard the cough from their aisle. I feel sorry for the guy and wished we could have helped him but what could we have done? We were all scared and didn’t know how to behave except to just leave. I don’t know what eventually happen inside the store. Time definitely has changed as we are living in constant state of fear.
