Day 38-Can you please pay attention…

Schools have closed down during the epidemic and parents all over America are becoming part time teachers. Let me tell you this..teaching is a very very hard job and the patience required is through the roof. This is especially true if you have to teach your 6 year old math and reading. I just don’t know how teachers do it with 10-15 kids in a classroom. I would go bananas. The attention span of these kids are like 10 seconds. It takes me 45 minutes to go through one of the homework assignment. In between these 45 minutes, the following things happened. He went to grab a snack. He needed to get a drink. He needs to find his favorite stuff animal which is a green alien. He wants to watch a quick Youtube video. He has 10 random questions. He needs to go to the bathroom. Finally, he decides to answer that 6+7=13. I thought I have just witness a miracle and that one math question has aged me 50 years. You are allow one week to complete all the assignments. If he doesn’t do the work, the school is threatening to keep them back one year. I hope they find a vaccine fast so the kids can go back to school. There is no way parents can juggle working from home, cleaning, cooking and now becoming teachers all of a sudden. I don’t think I can take it anymore. I am just going to do all his homework for him. I hope his teacher is not reading this.
